The eighth edition of the iconic Downhill competition on the snow will see hundreds of athletes under the spotlights on the "Alpe Alta" slope (Tonale Pass, Northern Italy)
Val di Sole is the Italian capital of the Mountain Bike all year round. While waiting for a great summer, marked by the Mercedes Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup (Cross Country and Downhill), the Four-Cross World Championships and the Trials UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, the winter of the Trentino valley calls for "La Winter DH", one of the most established and iconic snow cycling events.
La Winter DH's 8th edition is scheduled on Saturday, February 15th, 2020, on the Tonale Pass (Northern Italy). It is a unique and exciting event, distinguished by some novelties this year. First of all, a new course: the competition will be held on the slope "Alpe Alta", to guarantee a fast and technical challenge to the athletes.
Additionally, the event’s date will be anticipated compared to the previous edition, with the entry in the Italian Cycling Federation calendar. Riders will have to juggle with their bikes in a technical and engaging 1-Km course, marked by the typical gates of the giant ski slalom.
2020 Winter DH’s formula is the Eliminator race: the athletes will be split in several heats and the winners of each will advance to the next round. The balance skills will make the difference in the race, decreeing the La Winter DH winners in the MTB and eMTB categories.
Registrations are open on the Grandi Eventi Val di Sole's website from Tuesday, December 17th, 2019: the price will be 30 euros until January 15th, 2020. Later, the price will be 40 euros until February 13th, 2020.
"As usual, La Winter DH kicks off our biking season", said the President of Val di Sole Tourist Board and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole, Luciano Rizzi. – "It's an exciting, thrilling and unique competition which conveys emotions to athletes and fans. Tonale Pass's Alpe Alta slope will care for the rest: the course is going to be more challenging compared to the previous editions, therefore increasing the technical value of the competition".
