Jackson Goldstone preceded Jordan Williams on the Black Snake at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole. Bulgarian Izabela Yankova dominated the women’s race
After yesterday’s downpour, Val di Sole lived a sunny morning, on Sunday, August 29th, just in time to welcome the Downhill riders facing the finals on the mythical Black Snake. The program started with the JR competitions, where Canada and Bulgaria conquered the two rainbow jersey.
Jackson Goldstone (Canada) clinched victory in the JR Men’s race clocking 3.37.097. After crossing the second intermediate in third place, the Canadian rider made the difference in the final part of the Black Snake, conquering the gold medal ahead of Brit Jordan Williams (+1.812) and Aussie Lachlan Stevens-McNab (+3.560).
Bulgarian Izabela Yankova confirmed the eve’s predictions dominating the JR women’s race in 4.30.865. Behind the winner, Norwegian Kine Haugom (+10.844) claimed the second place ahead of Canadian Gracey Hemstreet (+13.245).
