For the sixth edition in a row, Daolasa di Commezzadura will host the Four-Cross World Championships, on Friday, August 27th at 20.45 CET
The UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole (August 25-29) will assign medals of 6 disciplines, but one, in particular, has found a home in Trentino: Four-Cross. For the sixth straight edition, Daolasa di Commezzadura will host the World Championships of this discipline, on Friday, August 27th at 20.45 CET, closing the third day of the event on a high.
The Four-Cross has given many emotions to Val di Sole’s fans, thanks to exciting and unpredictable runs. The Val di Sole track is considered the most technical in the world, characterized by 511 meters of length, jumps, banked corners, and obstacles. The course runs alongside the famous Blake Snake, and in addition to the Pro-Line features a technical rock garden in view of the finish line.
The Four-Cross formula is a tournament based on heats of four riders, who battle down the track to finish in the top two positions and access the following round. The 2019 champions, Romain Mayet and Romana Labounkovà, will not defend their crowns. Brits Scott Beaumont and Elliot Heap and Czechs Milukas Nevrkla and two-time World Champion Tomas Slavik (2010 and 2014) will battle for the rainbow jersey.
The home Italy team, without 2017 bronze medallist Giovanni Pozzoni, will count on Giacomo Fantoni and Stefano Dolfin.
The Four-Cross program starts on Thursday, August 26th, with the free practice (18.45-20.45 CET) and the Qualifying Round at 21.00 CET. Medals and rainbow jerseys will be assigned on Friday, August 27th: after a free practice session (18.45-20.15 CET), the decisive rounds will happen from 20.45 CET.
The entry for the Four-Cross World Championships will be free subject to availability. EU Countries' citizens can access the event once in possession of the Covid Green Pass, whilst the spectators from non-EU Countries must show a certificate of vaccination recognized in Europe or a negative result of a Covid Test.
