The UCI MTB World Championships will assign the first medals on Wednesday, August 25th: Switzerland, Italy among the favorites along with the defending champions of France
The medals’ time is approaching for the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole (August 25-29). On Tuesday 24th, the free practices sessions went on for Cross Country, while the official qualification round took place for the first Cross Country Short Track’s first World Championship, whose rainbow jerseys will be assigned on Thursday afternoon.
As per long-time tradition, the Team Relay will assign the first titles of #ValdiSole2021: tomorrow at 12:30 the team event will involve six riders of each national team, one man and a woman for each category – Elite, Under 23 and Junior. The racing order will be discretion of each national team coach.
The home Italian team will be among the favorites for gold, after winning the European title in Novi Sad, with France and Switzerland to be regarded as other major forces.
The Short Track qualification round gave no surprises, with all the top favorites making the cut and ready to line up and compete for the format’s first rainbow jerseys.
The fans from Val di Sole – and beyond - can’t wait to see the show unfold. The access for tomorrow Team Relay is free (subject to availability), as well as for the events of Thursday and Friday, while tickets (on sale on www.valdisolebikeland.com) will be required for the days of Saturday, August 28th (Cross Country) and Sunday, August 29th (Downhill).
The spectators coming from UE Countries will be allowed upon showing their Green Pass, whilst Extra UE spectators will have to present a recognized vaccination certification or the result of a negative Covid Test within the last 48 hours.
