The introduction of the Under 23 Short Track races extends the Val di Sole World Cup program to four days, from June 29th to July 2nd. Downhill and the Black Snake will take the center stage on Saturday, Cross Country will close things up on Saturday
The excitement is building for the 2023 Val di Sole UCI Mountain Bike World Cup stage, for the first time in the frame of the new UCI Mountain Bike World Series by ESO Sport - Warner Bros Discovery.
From June 29th to July 2nd, Val di Sole, renowned as one of the premier mountain bike destinations and the sole Italian UCI Bike Region, will host the world's top mountain bike athletes. The four-day event, held in Daolasa di Commezzadura, will feature fifteen thrilling races that promise to captivate spectators.
With the addition of the new Short Track races dedicated to the Under 23 categories, the World Cup stage in Val di Sole extends its racing schedule to an extra day. This long weekend will be filled with adrenaline and emotions, shaping the early history of the revamped World Cup format.
The action-packed program commences on Thursday, June 29th, with the Junior Downhill qualifications taking place from 2:15 PM to 3:30 PM (all times CEST) on the renowned Black Snake trail. Following the Junior Downhill, the two Short Track races for the U23 category will unfold, with the Women's race scheduled for 5:30 PM and the Men's race at 6:15 PM. The day culminates with the Four-Cross, as the 4X Pro Tour qualifications take the spotlight from 9 PM.
On Friday, June 30th, the Black Snake trail will witness the Junior races, beginning with the Downhill Women's race at 1:15 PM, followed by the Downhill Men's race at 2:00 PM. The Elite category qualifications will take place at 3:30 PM. The action continues with more Short Track races, featuring the Elite Women's race at 5:45 PM and the Elite Men's race at 6:30 PM, where riders will vie for valuable points and favorable starting positions for the Cross Country race on Sunday. The day concludes with the thrilling performances of the 4X Pro Tour.
Saturday, July 1st, marks one of the pinnacle moments as the Black Snake track takes center stage. Following the morning semi-finals, the Elite Women's race begins at 1:00 PM, followed by the Elite Men's race at 2:00 PM, as they battle for glory on this legendary downhill track. In the evening, the Mini Cross Country World Cup, dedicated to young participants, returns for the second consecutive year at 5:00 PM.
As tradition dictates, rounding out the Val di Sole World Cup program will be the Cross Country races on Sunday, July 2nd. The U23 Women's race starts at 8:30 AM, followed by the U23 Men's race at 10:30 AM. The Elite Women's race is set for 1:00 PM, while the Elite Men's race will take place at 3:00 PM.
Throughout the event, attendees can enjoy a wide range of side events, music, entertainment, and initiatives that showcase the beautiful region of Val di Sole and Trentino, along with its outstanding culinary and oenological delights.
