The countdown for the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in Val di Sole is officially on. With three days to go to the Italian event in Daolasa di Commezzadura, teams and athletes are starting to flock the paddock area. From tomorrow, Wednesday 12, they will start to test the routes, home of no less than 14 races among Cross Country, Short Track, Downhill and Four Cross.
The weekend in Val di Sole Bikeland will feature plenty of events, as those who already experienced this Italian stage of the MTB World Series know. Beside the races, the fans will be able to enjoy live music, meet&greets with the riders, youth events, night parties and much more.
This year’s might be the most packed schedule ever, thanks to an even greater commitment by the sponsor and partners to an event whose stocking on the international level is always on the rise.
On Friday June 14, between the Short Track tests and the show of the Four Cross, Vibram will host an aperitive and meet&greet with its riders (7.30 -8.30 PM). In addition, throughout the weekend it will be possible to re-sole flat-pedal bike shoes free of charge by the Vibram truck.
On the following day, Saturday June 15 (5.00 – 6.00 PM), GIANT and LIV will welcome the fans for another meet&greet with their athletes. On the same day at 5.00 PM, young riders will enjoy the GIANT Mini World Cup, emulating their heroes just a few steps away from the race fields.
Among the bike-related brands, the Expo area of Commezzadura will be home of Alé Cycling, Selle Italia, Würth Modyf and the Pump Track powered by Dolomeet, among others. The WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series partners are, in addition to the naming sponsor WHOOP, Michelin, Shimano, Motul and Oakley.
However, Val di Sole and Trentino are not only the land of cycling: also in the expo village, all food lovers will be able to taste the genuine products by Melinda and Gusto Natura, a real benchmark for biological food.
Partner of the Grandi Eventi Val di Sole and Val di Sole Tourist Board Organizing Committee are also the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Comunità of Valle di Sole and the Italian Government Sport Department.
The WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series event in Val di Sole is also supported by Funivie Folgarida Marilleva, Hydro Dolomiti Energia, Gruppo ITAS Assicurazioni, Casse Rurali Trentine, Cassa Rurale Val di Sole, Enterprise srl, Distilleria Marzadro, Forst and Acqua Pejo.
About the side events, the atmosphere will spice up on Friday June 14 at 10.00 PM with the live concert of “The Rumpled” band, followed by a DJ Set from midnight. On Saturday June 15, two Bikeflip Shows (11.00 AM and 4.00 PM) will bring the fun together with the Wasabi Live aperitive at 7.00 PM. The night will then keep on going with the Bikeland Party, while on Sunday June 16 at 5.00 PM, when the races will be over, the traditional celebrations for athletes, staff and volunteers will also kick off.
Sunday will also bring the special guest of this edition, the 3-time Road World Championships Peter Sagan, who back in 2008 conquered the Val di Sole field in the Junior Cross Country. Thus, the Slovak champion will have the chance to cheer with the fans that saw one of the first gold medals, before achieving an unforgettable career.
