Trials World Cup weekend is on in Val di Sole

Competitions have started in Vermiglio on Friday, with the 20” Men’s quarterfinals. Qualifications continue on Saturday, before Sunday’s grand finale in live streaming on the UCI’s official Youtube and Facebook channels

The UCI Trials World Cup has arrived in VermiglioVal di Sole, and you can definitely tell. Already on Thursday August 22nd, the town at the foot of the Tonale pass has fille with over 150 acrobats on two wheels in preparation for the first qualifying round – the Men’s quarterfinals for the 20” category, held on Friday August 23rd. That’s the second time of the Trials World Cup in Val di Sole after last year’s debut, and the previous experiences with the World Championships in 2008 and 2016. 

In spite of the cloudy sky, many fans and curious gathered to enjoy the show in the five competition sections at the San Leonardo Lakes. All the 20” Men riders were in the action, except for the top seeds, who will enter the competition directly on Sunday in the semifinals.

Tomorrow, Saturday, the qualifications continue in Vermiglio with the 26” Men’s quarterfinals (9-13.30) and the 20” Women’s Semifinals (15-17.30).

On Sunday, the Men’s 20” 20 (9-11) and 26” (11-13) semis will be contested in the morning, whilst the afternoon will stage the finals in the Women’s (14.30-15.45)20” Men’s (16-17.15) and 26” Men’s (17-30-18.45) categories. The final day of the event will be covered in Live Streaming on the UCI’s Youtube and Facebook channels.
