It’s a double hug, embracing also the organization: the end of the world’s most important event will launch the first great event after Rio i.e. the Uci World event to be held in Val di Sole from 29 August to 11 September and at the same time will mark the beginning of the work to bring the Olympic Games to Rome in 2024. Two important moments providing exposure for the Italian sport. I would like to say to all: Go guys!” Aldo Bordati, president of the O.C. Uci Mtb Val di Sole Worlds 2016, virtually hugs the Italian athletes and staff involved in Rio 2016 Olympic Games. “Of course we all cheer for our athletes: from Marco Aurelio Fontana, bronze in London 2012, Luca Braidot, Andrea Tiberi and Eva Lechner, who train in our valley. But we must also mention the many foreign friends who have raced with us and brought the name of Val di Sole around the world. Starting from the Czech championJaroslav Kulhavy, gold medal in London 2012 and testimonial of Trentino for years, who ideally represents them all”. And among these is Slovakia’s sprinter Peter Sagan, winner of the juniors world title in Val di Sole, in 2008 World Championship who promoted this valley of Trentino among the top international Mbt venues.
Aldo Bordati officially gave president of Coni Giovanni Malagò the T-shirt of the Worlds #ValdiSole2016 last May at the end of the national press conference that took place in Rome at Coni. A similar ceremony featured general director Sergio Battistini and Attilio Gregori with Jaroslav Kulhavy. And finally Hubert Pallhuber, Mtb Italian team manager: after the Olympic races he will be in Val di Sole for the Masters, that from 29 August to 4 September will involve over one thousand riders from 50 countries. But this time he will take part as an athlete. And then, the following week, it will be the turn of Mtb great champions.
